Papers I and II are qualifying only and are not counted for the final selection. PWT minimum qualifying marks: 30% OC (incl. EWS), 25% BC, 20% SC / ST / Ex-Servicemen; FWE: 40%, 35% and 30% respectively in each paper. Negative marking: 20% of a question's marks in the PWT, 25% in Part A of Papers I and II.

Official syllabus (TGPRB): It will include questions on problems relating to number system, simple interest, compound interest, ratio & proportion, average, percentage, profit & loss, time & work, work & wages, time & distance, clocks & calendars, partnership, mensuration etc.
Preparation focus: Learn the formulas first, then practise timed sums every day. Solve previous-year questions to see the level asked.
Official syllabus (TGPRB): It will include questions of both verbal & non-verbal type and questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory etc.
Preparation focus: Solve a few sets every day. For figure questions, follow one element of the figure at a time.
Official syllabus (TGPRB): General Science - contemporary developments in science and technology and their implications including matters of everyday observation and experience, contemporary issues relating to protection of environment as may be expected of a well educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.
Preparation focus: Focus on concepts behind everyday observations. TGPRB sets the level at "a well educated person", not a specialist.
Official syllabus (TGPRB): Current events of national and international importance.
Preparation focus: Revise the past year of news month by month, with extra attention to Telangana.
Official syllabus (TGPRB): History of India (including Indian National Movement) – emphasis will be on broad and general understanding of the subject in its social, economic, cultural and political aspects.
Preparation focus: The official emphasis is on broad understanding, so focus on concepts and chronology rather than rare details.

Preparation focus: Study with a map, and link rivers, soils, crops and minerals to their regions.

Preparation focus: Learn the key Articles and amendments, and connect economy topics to current schemes and the Budget.
Official syllabus (TGPRB): Telangana Movement and State Formation - The idea of Telangana (1948-1970), Mobilization phase (1971-1990), towards formation of Telangana State (1991-2014).
Preparation focus: Make a year-wise timeline for each phase. Learn the agreements, committees, organisations and leaders.
Papers III and IV of the Final Written Examination cover the same subjects as the Preliminary Written Test (Paper IV also adds a Personality test), so the chapter-wise breakdown above is useful for the final exam too.
Note: the Paper I and II descriptions below come from the earlier TSLPRB syllabus. Under the 2026 notification these two papers have an objective Part A and a descriptive Part B and are qualifying only (see the exam pattern above). The detailed syllabus is in Annexure III of the official notification.
Qualifying Paper in English will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard. Questions of the standard of SSC / Matriculation seeking to ascertain the Candidate’s knowledge of Usage, Vocabulary, Grammar, Comprehension and other language skills will be asked for in the Objective Format.
Candidates have to choose one of the languages i.e., either Telugu or Urdu and should indicate their choice as and when asked for by the recruiting authority. Option once exercised will be final and a candidate will not be allowed to change it subsequently Qualifying Paper in Telugu or Urdu will be of Matriculation or equivalent standard.
